This weather's got a mind of her own the past few weeks. One day I've layered in sweaters, long socks, and boots; then days like today, I'm wearing a prairie dress and riding my bicycle through town. No complaints from this gal, though. I bought this dress two weekends ago and wasn't sure I'd be able to sport it without a heavy jacket until next summer with the weather we've been having.
Josh and I have been talking about routines a lot lately. The only routine we've had seems to be that there is no such thing in our line of work. For instance, every shoot last weekend was postponed due to rain, so I have five this upcoming weekend. We love what we do, but with a lack of consistency, we're starting to feel a bit scattered. We've started to make more of a routine with our days by going to bed at a decent hour and waking up earlier than before. Working with your husband, it's a wonderful thing, especially when you can encourage one another to be a more disciplined person. Plus, two is better than one when it comes time for a coffee break at 7:00 am.
I'm spending the rest of the afternoon location scouting. It's really one of my most favorite occasions. I'll be accompanied by a cup of coffee, First Aid Kit, and the windows down while driving around the outskirts of Springfield. Happy Tuesday.

Love that you got a break in the rain. I swear the sun peeked over here for a minute, and I was out the door walking the doggies... then BOOM!! Storms raining until I get home an hour later :/
ReplyDeleteSun is peaking out again though, so think it's time to give it another shot!

I actually love unpredictable weather at this time of the year. I'll take a chilly, rainy day over a freeezing cold and windy day any day.
ReplyDeleteI love early mornings with a cup of coffee in hand and a sunrise through the window. Life is beautiful.

It's funny, I also had the "routine thought" these past couple of days...Working for yourself can be really great and it IS, but I realized, as much as I liked the freedom, I do need some sort of "timetable", otherwise I lose consistency. Happy to know I'm not alone... Though your work is much less predictable due to so many factors...Good luck with setting up your routine Kinsey :) And oh, good luck with the upcoming busy weekend.

Not only your outfit, but the photography here is amazing.
ReplyDeleteNow that I've moved to a less structured line of work, I definitely agree about having a routine, but it is so hard to stick to!
You always dress so dreamy! I love seeing new posts from you!
ReplyDeleteprecious.
ReplyDeletelovely photos. i hear you about routines. my husband and i both work full time + two kiddos, which is also a full time job {?}, so we have to save a lot of our "to dos" for the weekend. unfortunately, we like to slack off, so the encouragement to get stuff done is often lost on curling up on the couch or playing outside. :) i hope you find some beautiful locations. and ps. springield, MO?? i went to school there. :)
ReplyDeletelove this outfit and these photos! gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe weather this time of year is all over the place here too :). Routine, ah, something I'm working on as well as I get used to not getting up and "going" to work each day. We are about to have our first little one, so that will all change again in a couple of weeks!
