Denim Jacket Restyle // DIY Inspiration

I've seen a lot of pretty denim jackets floating around the web lately. I was inspired by this jacket by Free People and decided to let it be the muse of revamping a thrift store jacket I found a few weeks back. This project cost me in total around $6; a nice alternative to this gal's wallet.

To create a similar jacket, apply different shades/patterned trims and ribbons to sections of the jacket. I attached mine with a sturdy fabric glue, though you could also sew it in place. I think applying this technique to the back of the jacket would provide a really pretty look as well.

I'm honestly really pleased with the outcome. The trick in the project, especially if you're tackling it with glue, is to find trims/ribbons with clean edges so that you don't have any messy ends, giving it a more polished look.
